This is a free game made by one person. These terms are here to set expectations and keep the game fair for everyone. By creating an account or playing, you agree to the following.
Dreadmyst is completely free to play. There are no microtransactions, no premium currencies, no paid advantages, and no subscriptions. You will never be asked to pay for anything.
You need an account to play. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Don't share your account with others. If you lose access to your email, I may not be able to help you recover your account.
One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage is not allowed.
By playing, you agree not to do any of the following:
Cheating and Automation. Do not use bots, macros, auto-clickers, modified clients, or any software or method that automates gameplay or provides an unfair advantage. Accounts found to be botting or cheating will be banned without warning.
Exploiting Bugs. If you find a bug, report it. Do not intentionally exploit bugs or glitches for personal gain. Exploiting may result in a ban or rollback of your character.
Harassment. Treat other players with basic respect. Targeted harassment, hate speech, threats, and sustained toxic behavior will result in account action.
Real-Money Trading. Do not sell, buy, or trade in-game items, accounts, or currencies for real money or external value.
I reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban any account that violates these terms, at my sole discretion. I am not obligated to provide evidence or detailed reasoning for enforcement actions, though I will generally try to be fair and transparent where possible.
This is a solo project. The game may go offline for maintenance, updates, or because something broke at 3 AM. I do my best to keep things running, but I make no guarantees of uptime, availability, or uninterrupted service. Downtime does not entitle you to any compensation (and there's nothing to compensate you with anyway, since the game is free).
I do my best to keep your gameplay data safe, but I cannot guarantee that data will never be lost. Bugs, server issues, or unforeseen circumstances may result in loss of progress. I will try to restore what I can, but I am not liable for any lost data.
All code, game design, writin is my property or used under license. Art assets are credited at https://dreadmyst.com/credits/
Your account and in-game items are not your property. They exist within the game at my discretion.
The game is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. I do not warrant that the game will be error-free, secure, or available at any particular time. You play at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any damages arising from your use of or inability to use the game. This includes but is not limited to lost data, lost progress, or any other loss related to the game.
I may update these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued play after changes are posted means you accept the new terms.
